History and Folklore
Nanshan Village, in Xueyan Town, is located in the southeast side of Wujin District, meets Mashan of Wuxi in the south and Taihu Lake Bay Tourist Resort in the west. It is separated from the Chinese Filial Piety Park and CC Joyland only by a mountain.
Nanshan Village has a long cultural history. Yinjiadan and Zhangmu natural village are over one thousand years old. Nanshan Temple, located at the foot of Guishan Hill, is famous far and wide. It was built in the Kaibao period of the northern Song Dynasty. The site of Guishan Academy also lays here.
Rural Character
Nanshan Village is famous for its distinctive agricultural products, such as peaches, pears, grape, tea, etc. The Taihu Cuizhu tea and Yanghu New Moon tea of Feixiang Tea Plantation grown here have been awarded as pollution-free green food for a few consecutive years.
