Taige Village is well-developed in the fishing industry and owns more than 500 fishing boats. It is the second largest fishing village in Taihu Lake. It is rich in fish, shrimp, crab and other aquatic resources. The Taihu Three White (silver fish, white fish, white shrimp) are the most famous.

Rural Character

Taige Village is currently the only fishing village in Changzhou. The unique fishing culture is another distinctive feature. Its fishing culture has been passed down as a tradition for thousands of years. The method of fishing has continuously innovated and developed to succeed in today's world.

The Taige Fishing Song is one of the trademarks of this fishing culture. It used to be a melody that was sung by fishermen around Taihu Bay and Gehu Lake for generations. This art form once declined and was on the verge of extinction. In recent years, through the memory of older fishermen passed down orally, the Taige Fishing Song has reappeared before the world after half a century.

Since 2011, Taige Village has invested more than 30 million yuan to build the Taige Fishing Village Food Street. More than 20 distinctive restaurants, in unified architectural style, are located on both sides of the street.
