Affected by the water cycle of Taihu Lake all year round, Taihu Lake Bay has sufficient water, suitable temperature and a high level of minerals in the soil. With no pollution sources within 20 kilometers, the tea of this place is bright, tender and rich in nutrition.
Every March and April, tea farmers begin to harvest the first batch of tea leaves. Early in the morning, they adopt masterful movements, picking tender green leaves and putting them into bamboo baskets that they hang from the waist. Due to their diligent and responsible picking, excellent quality can be ensured for decades.
The manufacturing skills of Yanghu New Moon Tea is one of the Changzhou Municipal Intangible Cultural Heritages. This tea has won prizes in famous and excellent tea evaluation of China Tea Cup, also won the special prize in the 8th, 9th and 10th Jiangsu Lu Yu Cup.
Because 32,000 tea leaves, or the equivalent of 2,100 grams, can only produce 500 grams of finished product, the Taihu Cuizhu Tea is strictly processed using traditional methods.
